Mac Cosmetics recently released a new collection called Tendertones Lip Balm SPF12 with six new shades and four popular bring-backs. I mentioned last week that I would be doing a review on these and so just like I promised here is my review on the 2 shades I tried out.
Honey Bare and Hot 'N' Saucy are two gorgeous colors that will compliment any skin tone. My favorite out of the two happens to be the Honey Bare, which Mac describes as a rosy blue pink with white and gold pearl. In the pot it looks more along the lines of peach with gold shimmer but on my lips it's like an ultra sheer peachy pink with gold pearl. I sure wish this one showed up more on my lips because the color is so pretty.
Hot ' N' Saucy is a soft cherry red and that pretty much describes the color to a T. This one is more of a stain and has more color than the Honey Bare. Both have a subtle Strawberry-Kiwi scent and flavour that smells fruity. Yum!
The lip balms are sheer, so if it's color you want, you can try to build it up a bit, but even by doing that will not guarantee you more color. You might end up with a goopy glob along your lips if you add too much.
Tendertones feel like a lip balm, but look like a gloss. With SPF 12 protection, these cushiony lip balms hydrate and protect with the perfect hint of color for lips.
I love how these feel on my lips, so smooth and silky, better than any ordinary lip balm. Staying power is great too. I must say I am thoroughly impressed with the Tendertones and I hope Mac keeps them around for a long long time.
