MAC's New View is a collection of Mineraliz Skinfinishes that contains two finishes, a natural matte finish and the other a shimmer finish all combined into one compact. I personally enjoy the Skinfinish because it provides that "finishing" touch (hence the title "skinfinish") to my foundation while still keeping the look natural. Even with the shimmer applied, it isn't too empowering, but at the same time it isn't so subtle that it's completely useless. With application, the "Anything Goes" rule basically applies - you can use the powder to highlight your cheeks and brows, or apply all over the face and body.

Deep Dark/Natural & Shimmer


This is actually my very first skinfinish and I can definitely see why these are such a big hit worldwide! One look at this collection and I was smitten.

These powders are molded onto, small round terracotta tiles and carefully baked for 24 hours, allowing for an exceptionally sheer and light application. They contain vitamin A and E derivatives, which help buffer the skin from environmental aggression and jojoba oil, which calms and soothes the skin.

The "rich golden copper bronze" colors of the Deep Dark duo is a perfect match for my skin tone, which is a rare occurrence for me. To apply the natural matte powder, I like to use my Kabuki brush to buff it in over my foundation. It gives my face a winning natural matte finish! The shimmer portion, I buff that over my cheeks to add highlights. It gives a subtle glow to my skin. Sometimes I take the shimmer of the Light/Medium duo, and using my finger I will apply it around my brow bone and then take it around down to my cheekbone while gently dabbing it.
Because the coverage is so light and sheer it never looks caked on and does not settle into my pores.

One word of caution, this powder is very fragile, so be careful not to drop it. If you do, you will end up with hundreds of miniscule pieces. I also wouldn't trust it to be carried in my purse for fear of it shattering.

You can use Mineralize Skinfinish as a bronzer, a setting powder, highlighter, and even as a contour powder. Talk about a multi-purpose powder!! So what are you waiting for ladies, go get one!
