Review: Tarte's "We Wish You Health"

Tarte has come out with some great products, all of which work together, that greatly helped me with obtaining a perfect, natural looking complexion.

For example, Tarte's "We Wish You Health" skinvigorating gift set contains a few basic products:

face primer, eyeshadow, mascara, and lipgloss.

Tarte's "Clean Slate" face primer gives instructions on the back of the sleek bottle, "for a flawless finish: smooth a pea-sized amount onto skin (pre-foundation) or dab under eyes and on eyelids for the ultimate clean slate." When I used the product, I did just as it told - and I was quite pleased with the results, in contrast to how my foundation looked without the face primer.

Tarte's Lock & Roll creaseless eyeshadow duo contains a loose shadow and a cream shadow on either side. I absolutely adore how smoothly these shadows could be applied, however the shade ("SLATE", a blueish silver, like the name implies) just didn't suit me. But for those who have tried it and liked it, but didn't like the shade: have no fear. There's a larger version of Tarte's Lock & Roll creaseless eyeshadow duos that have a variety of colors to suit your complexion and tastes. (And you better believe I'll be purchasing one of these sometime soon.) Not only does it not give that icky creased look, just as promised, but the color you see in the container is exactly what you get. By that, I mean the color's vivid and it's definitely not misleading - and that's one thing I've always had problems with in choosing eyeshadows...sometimes the shade goes on too light, or too dark (which gives it a messy "muddy" look), but with this eyeshadow - as I said before - what you see is what you get. So whether you prefer the cream or the loose shadow, I can assure you that you'll love the results.

I'm also fond of the Inside Out Lipgloss that comes with the small gift set. "Serenity", the shade of the lipgloss within the set, is a vibrant red color that contains a subtle shimmer (which is thankfully not too overpowering). Like any lipgloss, it will be sheer to a certain extent, so that it will enhance your lips rather than completely altering the color. For me, I rarely wear lipsticks because of that reason, so ordinarily, I stick with lipglosses - but I digress. Tarte's lipgloss has a pleasant feel against the lips (and comfort is always an issue with makeup for me - it has to look good, but it also has to be something I'm comfortable with) and a fruity taste/scent.
