Vincent Longo Shimmer, Glimmer & Shine Hydro Stick, & Gelli Gloss Reviews

Vincent Longo's NEW Hydro Stick is the essential bronzer for the face, lips and eyes.
They are water resistant shimmer sticks that cool and moisturize the skin while adding an instant burst of shimmer.
These sticks are part of the Shimmer, Glimmer & Shine Collection which came out this past summer.
They come in 4 glimmering shades

  • Aqualily
  • Gold Solare
  • Luna Bronze
  • Rosewood Dawn

I tried these bronzer sticks in Rosewood Dawn and Aqualily.
Aqualily is described as a shimmering mauve rose, and Rosewood Dawn is a shimmering golden peach, but I also detect some rose undertones as well.

I was surprised by the cool wet feel of these on my skin. They really do feel cool and refreshing, kind of like a cool creamy lotion feel. What I also love about these sticks is that they have a smooth, silky texture and are so easy to blend. Great for highlighting the cheeks, eyes, and lips. I have to say though that I did not care for them on my lips. My lips seemed rather dry after the application which was a disappointment because I was really looking forward to using them as lip colors.

They are very sheer and I do mean SHEER but you can build up the coverage. In the photo above, I applied a lot so that the colors would show up.
One thing you must make sure of and that is to keep the top on when not using, to protect the water-based formula.

Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it to everyone.

Gelli Gloss

These pots of gelli gloss are a delightful treat for the lips. They are described as "a sheer veil of delicate clean color subtly tints the mouth, creating lusciously glossy "Kiss me now" lips."

They come in 3 glimmering shades:
  • Vita - juicy Watermelon
  • Vela - Satin Plum
  • Aria - Succulent Peach

I have these in VITA and ARIA, both are very sheer despite the fact that they look much darker in the pot.

The texture and consistency reminds me of vaseline. Not quite as thick, but more like a gel. They go on so smoothly and are loaded with shine, lots of shine. I love how they feel on my lips, not sticky at all, just silky smooth.

So if it's color you are looking for, then these are not for you. But I do recommend them if you are looking for a sheer natural gloss.

I too love the new Hydro Sticks, especially on more mature skin. I agree about the intensity of color. If you want more color, you can pop just a little powder blush on top of the Hydro Stick blush and it will give it stronger color and staying power. Sometimes powder blush can look dry, or maybe not give you enough color, but when you place it on top of the Hydro Stick, it really comes alive.

Hi beautiful-faces, thank you for your blush tip! I never thought of adding the hydro stick over powder blush, sounds like a great idea!

Loving the Hydro Sticks! I had been eyeing them forever and then beautiful-faces.com sends me a coupon for 10% off a purchase on the website… I bought two! Definitely love the Gold Solare and Luna Bronze for any occasion. I think the offer is still good too! :-)
