Last week I told you about the new Bobbi Brown Platinum Collection, which I must say is a sight for sore eyes. Bobbi Brown has done it again! This collection is a breath of fresh air. Just say so-long to the bold dark colors of winter, and welcome the soft feminine luminous shades of this collection. Perfect colors to wear this Spring.
When I first set my eyes on the Platinum Pink Shimmerbrick I was ooing and awing. This highlighter palette is amazing! It's kind of bright in the pan but when you apply it, it's just gorgeous. The shimmer is very light and hardly noticeable, which is nice because who wants to look like a disco ball?
The shades included are: soft pink, platinum, bright pink, golden coral and rose. They can be blended together or used individually. It's great for highlighting the cheekbones as well as on the brow bone. As you can see in my color swatch, the platinum shade(second one from the end and second from the top in the palette pic) actually looked like a light golden shade on my skin. But in the pan it is a white (platinum) shade. These colors are fun, bright, wearable and are a spring must-have!
If you are a fan of Bobbi Brown Shimmerbricks, you are going to want to get your hands on this one. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Confetti Shimmer Lip Gloss is a light shimmery pink that is a perfect shade to wear with a smoky eye. It was really hard to capture the true color with my camera because it is such a pale shade of pink. I found it to be a little on the sticky side but nevertheless it felt smooth on the lips. It's nothing like it looks in the tube. It's loaded with shine and has a nice vanilla scent.
One thing I don't like about this gloss is the brush. The plastic like bristles stuck out everywhere and no matter how hard I tried, I could not get them to straighten out.
Long Wear Cream Eye Shadow in Steel is a deep cool brown shade. It's a great color to use for a smoky eye look. I paired this with the rose color from the Pink Shimmerbrick and they looked gorgeous together on my eyes. I did not think I was going to be able to wear a cream shadow because of my oily skin, but this was so easy to work with. It blended well and the color stayed put all day even without using an eye primer such as UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion). My pics don't do these colors any justice. They look so much better in real life.
If you could have one thing from this collection, what would it be?

Probably the Shimmerbrick, since the brush on the gloss is a real turn-off...
bellab, good choice, you will love the shimmerbrick. BB's lip brushes really are a turn off. They are almost impossible to use. :(
Bobbi Brown is genius when it comes to makeup and marketing! As soon as you love a product or color, another 10 "limited" colors magically appear at the makeup counter. I could literally makeup a small country with all the BB products I have! I agree with you Melissa, I'm falling out out xoxo with BB's brushes, and lip gloss...it's soooo sticky...bleh!
