When the cyber beauty world was all abuzz with the oscillating, and spinning mascaras not too long ago, I wasn't really all that interested in them. I just considered them to be a passing fad that would die down and fade away. Besides, I am perfectly capable of applying my mascara myself without any help from a "vibrating" one. At least that is what I thought until I tried the new Prescriptives mascara called Motor-Eyes Instant Action. It's designed to lift, darken, curl, volumize and separate lashes instantly. The vibrating brush is said to work synergistically with the mascara formula. I was a little apprehensive at first, but thought it sounded like a pretty neat concept. So I decided to take it for a test drive.
My first two attempts were not a success but found myself slowly warming up to it. Well third time's a charm, and I hit pay dirt so to speak. I actually could see a difference in volume and separation of my lashes. Not only that but my lashes were clump free! The formula is somewhat dry and I think that might be why they didn't clump up. I was really shocked because I honestly did not think this mascara was going to make it into my makeup bag but rather the trash can.
The micro-ColorSpeed pigments are dispersed evenly by the vibration of the brush to wrap each lash in thick, rich vibrant color. It has a special crystal-clear film former, that seals in the color so that the lush look lasts all day without flaking. It did stay on all day without flaking but as for curl, I can't say that I noticed any extra curl, which really isn't a big deal to me since I curl my lashes anyway.
The only negative I have with this mascara, is the price. To me $32 is a lot of money to pay for a small amount(0.19 oz) of mascara especially when there are cheaper alternatives that do just as good a job.
You can find it at QVC and at Prescriptives counters nationwide.
