What they are: Foolproof formulas for smoldering eye looks.
How to use: To achieve a classic smoky eye, apply the lighter shade all over lids to brow bone using Definer Brush #15. Next, sweep the darker shade across upper and lower lash line using Double Ended Smudger Brush #20 and blend. For added definition line upper lash line with the darker shade using Arced Liner Brush #21.
I've always admired the smokey eye look. In the past I have tried to perfect it many times only to find myself failing miserably. I just couldn't seem to get that "smoky" effect. At least not until I tried these Smashbox duos!
I have Smolder and Slate which are perfect to use for smokey eyes.
The Smolder Duo consists of a shimmering pewter and a black with multi-colored flecks. You can see the tiny gold and silver flecks in the photo below (click the image to enlarge it for a closer view). Slate consists of a Blue Denim and Smoky Blue Gray.
These creamy duos were easy to blend and smudge. However you do have to work a little fast before they dry out. I used my finger and by the time I found the right brush, it was dry. The shades look darker in the container than they do on which I don't mind since the color is buildable.
Staying power is great! I wore mine all day until I removed it at night. And I actually forgot to apply my eye shadow primer!
These waterproof shadow liner duos are the bomb! I was so impressed with them that I went to my local Sephora and purchased the shade in Goddess (silver taupe shimmer/deep purple shimmer). It's pictured above on the left.
I highly recommend this product. It's a great value and it's also a great product!
