MAC Colourcraft Mineralize Eye Shadow in Fashion Patch

Fashion Patch’s shades consist of an off-white/ivory, an icy blue, a cool violet-pink, and a black with subtle silver bits. This compact contains the more energetic colors for the creative artist.



Although I was a bit leery of how these colors would look on my eyes, I was very surprised to say they weren’t as crazy as I thought. You can easily tone the look down by applying lightly or mix-and-matching with alternate shades.

MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow in Eccentricity

Eccentricity’s shades consist of a warm medium gold, a warm brownish bronze, a cool shimmery violet, and a deep purplish plum. These shades can be used in tandem, but I chose only a few shadows to apply as well as mix-and-matched with shades from other compacts.



As I mentioned in my review of Assemblage, these shadows are not as pigmented as other MAC shadows. If you use an eye shadow primer it will make the colors more intense. You can also apply them with a damp brush. By wetting the brush prior to application, this will create a more vibrant metallic look. Not a favorite of mine but it's just a matter of preference and what type of look you want to create.

Out of this compact, I’d have to say the gold and bronze were my favorite shadows. All four shades are gorgeous and versatile. They are so silky and smooth to the touch. This quad is definitely a keeper.

MAC Colourcraft Mineralize Eye Shadow in Assemblage

MAC’s newly released collection “Colourcraft” is an assortment of vibrant lipsticks, lipglasses, shadows, and blushes, several with a brand new twist in the design.

Each mineralized eyeshadow compact comes with four shades to create a “pinwheel” pattern. I was sent three of these compacts: Assemblage, Eccentricity, and Fashion Patch.



Today I will be reviewing "Assemblage" and then over the next few days I will be posting reviews of the other eye shadow quads along with several other products from this collection. So don't forget to come back and check them out!

Assemblage’s shades consist of a pure white with a silvery shimmer, a gleaming light warm gold, a medium to deep gray, and a black with silvery bits. This specific compact is great for creating a lighter smoky eye, but the shadows also work very well alone. For added intensity, I suggest layering the shade or applying wet.

I found that the shadows were not quite as pigmented as other MAC shadows. So I would suggest using an eye shadow primer to make the colors more vibrant. There was a bit of fallout which I expected because of the bits of glitter but it was easy to brush away.
The texture is amazing and that alone makes it easy to blend them. All the shades complement each other perfectly so you can mix and match. So whether or not you will enjoy this quad, there are others in this collection that I am sure you will like.

Covergirl Exact Eyelights Eyeshadow in Vibrant Browns

Covergirl has added a few new additions to their Exact Eyelights family. Four new Eyeshadow Palettes that consist of four expertly matched shades that are customized to match and complement your eye color, brown, blue, hazel and green. Each comes with a soft-bristle brush for easy application.




I was sent the "Vibrant Browns" to try out. The colors in this quad are black, silver, gold and the lightest shade is an ivory pearl color. The texture is silky smooth and they do have a fair amount of pigment.



I have hazel eyes and so these eyeshadows really did not complement my eye color. I think I am going to have to try out the "Vibrant Greens" which are best suited for hazel eyes.
