The evening’s most popular looks were worn by many, check out Gatsby Salon tips on how to get the hottest looks of the evening!

The Look
Voluminous Up ‘do

Who wore it: Miley Cyrus, Kristen Stewart, Vera Farmiga

“Volume gave a new twist to the traditional up’do,” says Gatsby Salon stylist Denise Gunnello. To get the look:

1. Start with using a volumizer on damp hair’s roots. (Try Gatsby Salon’s Texture Lift, $12.50 available by calling 732.752.4247)

2. Blowdry hair using your fingers to create volume and texture within your hair.

3. Once hair is completely dry, tease hair from temple to temple, beginning along the hairline.

4. Smooth out slightly with fingers to give it an “unpolished look”.

5. Use your fingers to direction hair towards the back of your head.

6. Apply a flexible hold spray to keep teased hair in place as you create the back of the look.

7. Begin gathering hair at the nape of your neck in a loose, messy bun-type shape.

8. Use bobby pins to secure hair in place. TIP: Create an X by criss-crossing bobby pins to create a more secure style.

9. Use a medium to strong hold hairspray to ensure this look lasts throughout the evening.
