I'm sure some if not most of you have been excited about trying MAC's newest collection To The Beach as much as I have. Well this weekend I was able to tinker around with a few of the products. Because of the generous amount that was sent to me, I've decided to break the reviews up into three separate posts. So for the first one, I am going to do the lip pencil, lipstick and lipglass reviews.
This collection contains a variety of vibrant colors that are sure to give you a style. The packaging is so adorable with the shells, starfish and the seahorses that are stamped into the high-light powder. Gorgeous! Like I said before, this collection will sell out fast.
Swatches, photos and review after the jump.

Temperature Rising is described as "loudmouth orange" and that pretty much fits the description of this color to a t. It's definitely one of the more “fluorescent” shades of TO THE BEACH and is not for the faint of heart. But because of my golden skin tone, I can pull this color off with no problem at all. However, I am not one for neon shades nor am I that brave to venture out into the public with this on. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous color. I think it's just a matter of mixing-and-matching colors to fit your lifestyle.
Life's A Breeze is described as a "soft pink". This color complements just about every skin tone. The liners have a creamy texture and glide on smoothly. This pairs well with the Lazy Day lipstick.

The lipsticks come in a orange/coral colored tube, embellished with a shell motif and are limited edition. The two I tried:
Beachbound a sheer frosted pale peach (glaze formula)
Beachbound is a sheer golden shade of peach. It looks peach in the tube but once applied to the lips, it appears to be more of a golden champagne shade than a peach one. Sadly, on my pigmented lips this was too sheer and washed me out. So I decided to apply it with a lip brush and the peach became intensified. Now I am loving it!
Lazy Day is a light dirty blue pink (lustre formula). This lipstick color made me look washed out. It does not go well with my yellow undertones. I personally think that this is best suited for those who are cool toned. It's a very pretty shade of pink though and would look great paired with Easy Lounger or Splashing lipglass.
Easy Lounger lipglass is a light baby pink with multi-dimensional pearl. You can wear this alone for a natural lip look to the beach or pair it with one of your favorite lipsticks. Either way, this gloss creates soft, smooth shiny lips.
Stay tuned for part 2 of MAC To The Beach: Cream Bronzer, Lustre Drops, and Bronze Body Oil Swatches and Review.

I love the on the skin photos because it's really difficult to know what a color will look like from looking online which is how I do my shopping. I would so do the temperature rising color for work.. I like to shake it up.. but the rest of my face would be really toned down.. I have worn atomic orange to work in October with a black top and have gotten loads of compliments, I think it's all in the delivery. Thanks so much your the first blog I've seen go in depth with this collection and I enjoyed looking at it.
Thanks I am so glad you liked the review. Shopping online for makeup can be difficult because shades/colors vary from one computer monitor to the next. So I take quite a few pictures until I get a close enough or near to perfect photo of the color.
Orange and black do compliment one another but like you said, it's really all in the delivery. :)
OK. Last thought. Since your too chicken for atomic orange. .. lol have you ever tried tangerine lip gloss by Bobbi Brown.. let me tell you it is SO brightening! Peachy orange.. subtle. Not scary orange I promise. One of my favorite lip glosses of all time.
LOL who says I'm chicken! :P
As a matter of fact I do have the tangerine gloss by BB. I don't wear it that often. My fav is Cabana Coral by Vincent Longo. It's the best!
I will have to check that one out!
If you love coral shades then you will love the Cabana coral. Let me know what you think of it. :)
Do you have a post with swatches of the eye shadows and eye liners? I can't seem to find one.
Thanks!
Hi kellinicole86, I do have the eye shadows and eye kohls but have not posted them yet. I'll try and have my review up along with the swatches and the inspirational look tomorrow. :)
